AMS Europe conference 2008 - the exclusive networking event for senior executives from automotive manufacturing has happened

Once again the AMS Europe conference, held in Leipzig was a great success. Delegates from all over Europe and booming automotive markets like Turkey and Russia came together to hear about the latest trends in automotive manufacturing in Europe and beyond.

Many of the attendees have testified they found this year's conference beneficial, interesting and enjoyable.

AMS Europe conference report

The AMS Europe 2008 conference was held from May 7 to 8, at the Marriott Hotel Leipzig, Germany. As well as offering an opportunity for top automotive manufacturing professionals to network with their industry peers, the conference offered a full programme of events.

First on the itinerary was a series of production plant tours, with delegates having the choice of visiting either Volkswagen's Chemnitz engine factory or the Porsche Leipzig and BMW Leipzig production facilities.

Lunch at the Marriott was followed by the first sessions from speakers, featuring experts from fields as varied as production line ergonomics to paint shop technologies. Delegates could then continue their networking during the prestigious dinner, which was held at the Porsche Museum at Porsche Leipzig, a spectacular building in its own right. The event was made more memorable with the selection of Porsche cars in display, including both the racing and road models.

The second day of the conference featured sessions on topics including the production of high-grade metals for automotive production, and the challenges faced by companies producing vehicles within Russia, for example.

Supported by silver sponsors inos and Magna Steyr, as well as a selection of other top companies and organisations, the AMS Europe 2008 conference was described by one delegate as "the only conference left in Europe that deals specifically with automotive manufacturing". AMS is already looking forward to the next event to carry on what is becoming the 'must attend' conference for senior decision makers in automotive production.
